The Wells College men's soccer team battled to another close game and fell by a 1-0 score against Elmira College on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the Wells Turf Field.
The visiting Soaring Eagles scored the game's only goal in the first half and held on for the win.
Elmira held a 7-4 shots advantage in the first half and scored in the 40th minute when two players forced a takeaway from a Wells defender, Ryan Wallace collected in space and scored from distance.
Both teams had seven shots in the second half, but Wells couldn't break through with the equalizer.
Wells had seven corner kicks to two for the Soaring Eagles.
Express goalkeeper Cam Davis made six saves in the match.
Wells is 2-10-0 on the year and Elmira is 2-9-0.
Wells returns to NEAC play on Saturday, Oct. 6 at home against Penn State Abington at 2 p.m.
