Cook, known as "Doc" by his players, serves as the Assistant Coach for the Express men's soccer team. A native of Ithaca, N.Y. and a 1973 graduate of Ithaca High School, Cook earned honors as a STAC All-Star in both soccer and baseball. Graduating Summa Cum Laude from Ithaca College in 1976 with a degree in mathematics/economics, Cook is a recent retiree of the Ithaca Fire Department where he served the community for 30 years.

Prior to coming to Wells, Cook has coached both the Ithaca Youth Soccer Club and TC United Soccer Club teams while also serving as the Assistant Boys Varsity Soccer Coach at Ithaca High School. He has completed the necessary coursework to obtain his coaching license from the NYS Education Department. He also holds a USSF State “D” Coaching License. In 2003, Cook was recognized as the recipient of the NYSWYSA Boys Recreational Coach of the Year in 2003. Additionally, he is a respected Grade 8 USSF soccer referee and acts as a mentor to new and younger referees.
